Office Hours

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  We are closed for the lunch hour from 12:30 - 1:30 PM.  In addition, we are open on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 12:00 PM for urgent illnesses and emergencies.  Our phone lines open at 8:30 AM for scheduling appointments. 

All visits should be scheduled by appointment first.  We can always find an available appointment time for emergencies and ill children.  If you need to cancel an appointment or if you are running late, please call to let us know as soon as possible.

Telephone Advice

During office hours, one of our experienced registered nurses is available to answer questions by telephone.  In addition, you may ask to speak with your doctor directly.  If the doctor is in a room seeing a patient when you call, please leave a message and he or she will call you back that day when time is available.

After Hours Care

After hours and on weekends, our phones are answered by the answering service who can refer you to the nurse advice line or our pediatrician on call.  A pediatrician is available at all times, day and night, to help you with any urgent issues.  It is best to use the advice line for urgent illnesses and to save non-acute problems (such as medication refills) for our staff during regular office hours.

Hospital Affiliations

Our pediatricians are on the medical staff at Children's Hospital Oakland, Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkeley, and John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

Insurance

Our doctors are providers on many insurance plans through the Hill Physicians, Alta Bates, and John Muir Medical Groups.  They are also preferred providers on many PPO plans.

Please be prepared to present your child's insurance card at each visit.  Copayments and payments for non-covered services are due at the time of the child's visit.

For newborns, please call your insurance company or human resources department to add your baby to your insurance plan within 30 days so coverage can begin.
